A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby features a group of well-known figures from the scene. All took part in the September show, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The song features a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The team running the campaign have clarified that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from later in the month.
