Bolsonaro has been taken into custody after authorities found he posed a definite escape threat while under house arrest.

The former head of state was sentenced of planning a military coup in last fall and given more than over two decades in incarceration, but he remained under confinement pending court reviews.

Top Judicial Official the presiding justice said the move to detain the elderly politician was a safety action after recent developments were revealed.
