Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Finn, who featured in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
